KK - The Voice of Love
August 23rd 1968, Delhi, A young boy was born to a Malayali Family. His name was KK alias Krishnakumar Kunnath. He was a student at Kishori Mal College which was affiliated with Delhi University.
KK was a person who had an amazing voice, though he was not trained. He started his career as a singer through ad jingles. He debuted in a Music Industry via an A.R Rahman Soundtrack.
It was his debut album Pal that turned KK into a sensation. Two of its songs named Pal and Yaaron were the best tracks that were most commonly used in School Farewells.
KK as a singer was well known for bringing out his versatility in his singing. Be it A Kuthu track like Appadi Podu or Annanodu Paatu, A Heartbreak song like Tadap Tadap or Awaarapan Banjaarapan, KK is a gem. He is also well known for his work with Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
KK as a person was well known to be very humble and friendly. He also was well credited for helping notice the talent of Arijit Singh who became a star.
On May 31st 2022, KK gave his last performance at Nazrul Manch Auditorium where there was an Utkarsh Festival 22 organized by Gurdas Mahavidyalaya. Post which he had a cardiac arrest and met his end at just 53 years of age.
So long KK, Thank you for the music. They don't make legends like you anymore. Love you 3000. P.S Yaaron has become my favourite song today.
